Winter Backyard Birds

One week day I decided to watch for some birds because we had just got some new seed. I surprisingly got lucky and saw a bunch of birds.  It took a day and a half till some birds noticed the seed.  The first birds to notice were a little flock of Juncos.
Aren't they cute?

Here's a male Cardinal sitting in our pine tree.
Here's the male cardinals girlfriend not too far away from him in the bush.
This is a Nuthatch .  And if you look very closely you can see that he has a peanut in its mouth.
The next two pictures are of Blue Jays.

Blue Jays are one of my favorite kinds of birds.

We also saw a pair of morning doves,  but we did not get a picture of them.

We did however get a couple pictures of deer in the prairie out side of our fence.

FUN FACT:  Did you know that the humming bird is the smallest bird in the world?
